What is the proximity range of a Boski unit?


Real-time air sanitation takes place within 3-4 feet of human interaction. Boski is able to extract droplets from the air outside of this range, however there will be some level of delay depending on the room size, air ventilation or other factors. Our unit has an internal fan rated at 32 CFM. Depending on how long it would take for a single unit based on room size, you may need some quantity of units for the entire space or select the areas of the room with the highest concentration of people and focus on just placing units there.




How are the units powered?


Boski units require 120V (or 240V outside the USA) AC electrical outlets. In situations where outlets are not regularly available, Boski devices can be plugged into powerstrips or can be used with extension cords. External battery packs are available for extreme cases where power availability is scarce.




Are Boski devices effective / has 3rd party lab testing been conducted?


In October, 2020, Boski completed 3rd party lab testing with ARE Labs in compliance with the FDA Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) as defined in 21 CFR, Part 58. Results showed a kill rate of 99.99%+ of MS2, a non-enveloped virus that is an excellent surrogate for COVID-19 as both are positive-sense single-stranded RNA, or (+)ssRNA viruses. MS2 is a non-enveloped virus which are typically harder to kill than enveloped viruses like COVID-19. Can Boski's UV-C rapid air sanitizer kill COVID-19?

Is exposure to the UV-C light in the Boski unit safe?


Yes, as there is no direct human exposure to the UV-C bulbs given they are housed inside the Boski units. Our units are designed in a way that bulbs cannot be accessed within the device after leaving our manufacturing facility (unless devices are broken open).




Are Boski units needed if wearing a facemask is required?


While new studies are coming out regularly, a recent study published in Physics of Fluids notes that "face coverings alone do not prevent droplets of fluid that are projected by a cough, a discovery the researchers called 'alarming." Boski adds an additional layer of protection against harmful airborne contaminants, leveraging UV-C light technology at a 254 nanometer wavelength, well within the most lethal range for inactivating viruses and pathogens in rapid fashion.




Are Boski units needed if plexiglass shields are installed?


Like many commodity products, price gouging can take effect in times of crises. Plexiglass barriers are rising in cost and are in limited supply. Boski can create safer spaces at a lower cost while not creating new interpersonal barriers.




Do wall or ceiling mounted UV Lamps provide adequate air sanitation?


UV lamps are capable of killing airborne viruses and pathogens, however UV light intensity decreases quickly with distance. As an example: A UV lamp has 250 W/cm2 and is 1" away from the air it is designed to sanitize. If you double the distance (to 2"), you only have 1/4th of 250 W/cm2. Apply this math to several feet away and efficacy is close to nothing and extensive periods of time are required to inactivate airborne viruses. Boski units enable extremely close air/light distances so that the air/light contact time requirement is a low as possible.




I have UV installed in my HVAC system - do I still need Boski?


UV within HVAC systems is fairly common. UV efficacy within HVAC systems are generally impaired because of two factors: air circulation timeframe and airflow speed in the ducts. How long do the Boski units last?
